Latest studies focus on the development of myopia in adolescents and the treatment and prevention of thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy. Dr. Hui Li enrolled in the Medical Department of Norman Bethune University of Medical Sciences in 1979 and worked in the Ophthalmology Department of Beijing Post and Telecommunications General Hospital after graduating in 1984. Promoted to attending physician and associate chief physician in ophthalmology in 1989 and 1996, respectively. Joined the Ophthalmology Department of Peking Union Medical College Hospital in 2002 and was promoted to chief physician in 2006. Has been engaged in clinical practice for 26 years. Serves as a committee member of the Strabismus and Pediatric Ophthalmology Group of the Chinese Medical Association Ophthalmology Branch. For many years, Dr. Li has been dedicated to the research of pediatric amblyopia, various types of strabismus, and the occurrence and development of adolescent myopia. In recent years, Dr. Li has collaborated with multiple departments at Peking Union Medical College Hospital (including Endocrinology, Nuclear Medicine, Radiotherapy, Radiology, Laboratory Medicine, and ENT) to organize and participate in basic and clinical research on thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy (TAO). Dr. Li also undertakes the National Natural Science Foundation project 'Correlation Study between Susceptibility Genes and Disease Severity of Thyroid-Associated Ophthalmopathy'.
