Assistant to the Director of Thoracic Surgery, Attending Physician. Dr. Luo Zhao graduated from the 8-year clinical medicine program at Peking Union Medical College in 2013 with a doctoral degree. In 2019, he was appointed as an Attending Physician in Thoracic Surgery at Peking Union Medical College Hospital. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of common thoracic diseases, including lung, esophageal, and mediastinal space-occupying lesions. He can independently perform minimally invasive lobectomy, segmentectomy, and mediastinal tumor surgeries, possessing rich clinical experience. Known for his patient and meticulous care, he was awarded the Outstanding Employee of Peking Union Medical College Hospital in 2020. Dr. Zhao is highly experienced in neoadjuvant therapy and minimally invasive surgical treatment for esophageal cancer. He leads two hospital-level research projects on neoadjuvant therapy for esophageal cancer and has published over ten articles as the first author in mainstream domestic and international journals.
