Professor Jianxiong Shen is a Chief Physician, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor in the Department of Orthopedics. He specializes in the surgery and post-surgical functional recovery of spinal scoliosis and degenerative diseases. He has profound expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of various spinal conditions, particularly spinal scoliosis. He is highly experienced in scoliosis correction and the establishment of post-operative spinal function. Professor Shen is among the pioneers in China to utilize TSRH, CDH, ISOLA, and Galveston techniques for treating scoliosis. He performs over 100 scoliosis correction surgeries annually, successfully treating complex and high-risk spinal deformities, including cases leading to paraplegia, and frequently conducts revision surgeries. He also extensively performs surgeries for degenerative spinal conditions. Professor Shen serves as the Vice Chairman of the Spinal Deformity Group of the Spinal Cord Injury Professional Committee of the Chinese Association of Rehabilitation Medicine, and Vice Chairman of the Spine Branch of the Orthopedics Professional Committee of the China Medicine Education Association. He is a member of the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS) and serves on the editorial boards of several prestigious journals, including Spine.
