Professor Li specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of adrenal gland diseases, tumors of the urinary system and male reproductive system, and benign prostatic hyperplasia, with a particular focus on pheochromocytoma. He is highly skilled in various laparoscopic operations, including robot-assisted laparoscopic surgeries.
He is a renowned expert at Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH), Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and a recipient of the State Council Special Government Allowance. He also serves as an Honorary Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In the 1990s, he was a visiting scholar in urology at Columbia University Presbyterian Medical Center and Cornell University in New York. He has been engaged in clinical and basic urology work at PUMCH for over 30 years.
Professor Li has made significant contributions to adrenal surgery, minimally invasive urology, kidney transplantation, urological oncology, and prostate diseases. He pioneered laparoscopic adrenal tumor resection in China in the 1990s and successfully performed the country's first 3D laparoscopic surgery in 2012. He has published over 300 professional papers, including dozens of SCI-indexed articles, and holds multiple national patents and medical science awards.
