Dr. Liang specializes in the treatment of diabetes mellitus and its chronic complications, hyperlipidemia, miscellaneous diseases in internal medicine, and complementary therapies for cancer.
Born in 1956 in Jiaocheng, Shanxi, she graduated from the Beijing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1978 and obtained her Master's degree in Medicine from the Graduate School of Peking Union Medical College in 1987. She has worked in the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Peking Union Medical College Hospital since graduation, previously serving as the Director of the TCM Department and the Department of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine. From 1999 to 2000, she was a visiting scholar at the University of Texas Health Science Center.
Dr. Liang studied under the renowned TCM expert Professor Zhu Chenyu for nearly 10 years. She has developed several traditional Chinese medicines for hyperlipidemia and diabetic complications. Her research focuses on the integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatment of diabetes and its chronic complications. She has published over 200 papers, edited or co-edited over 20 books, and received numerous scientific and technological awards for her research.
