Dr. Ning graduated from Peking Union Medical College with a Ph.D. in 1998. She formerly served as an Associate Chief Physician in Medical Oncology. In 2004, she studied in the Oncology and Hematology Department at New York-Presbyterian Hospital for three months. Since 2012, she has pursued advanced studies in palliative care in Taiwan, the UK, Hong Kong, and Singapore. She transitioned to the Geriatrics Department in 2014 to focus on clinical work, teaching, and social promotion in this field. She is the course director of 'Palliative Medicine' at Peking Union Medical College, the Chinese Executive Chairman of the Sino-British Joint QELCA Training, and the Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the Palliative Care Branch of the China Geriatric Health Care Medical Research Association. She has received numerous accolades, including the 'Charming Figure of China' in 2016 and the 'Reverence for Life, Honoring Healers, Humanistic Care Award' by the Global Times in 2017. She has also served as a national palliative care pilot training expert in 2017 and 2019, and has edited and translated multiple professional books on palliative care.
