He was a visiting scholar at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) affiliated with Harvard Medical School and the Cleveland Clinic (CCF). Relying on the multidisciplinary collaborative team advantages of Peking Union Medical College Hospital, he actively promotes the standardized management of neurocritical patients in China. He spearheaded the establishment of the Chinese Neurocritical Care Management Collaborative Group and led related collaborative units to co-author 11 Chinese consensus statements and guidelines. He is the director of national continuing medical education projects.
Currently, he serves as the Head of the Chinese Neurocritical Care Management Collaborative Group; Member and Secretary of the Neurotrauma Group of the Neurosurgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Association; Member of the Neurotrauma Professional Group of the Trauma Branch of the Chinese Medical Association; Vice Chairman of the Severe Cerebrovascular Disease Branch of the Chinese Stroke Association; Member of the 7th Youth Committee of the Neurosurgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Association; Member and Deputy Secretary-General of the Hemorrhagic Stroke Surgery Professional Committee of the Stroke Prevention and Treatment Expert Committee of the National Health Commission; Vice Chairman of the Intracerebral Hemorrhage Surgery Diagnosis and Treatment Capacity Improvement Project of the National Health Commission; Member of the Neurocritical Care Expert Committee of the Neurosurgery Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association; Member of the Neuro-nutritional Support Group of the Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition Branch of the Chinese Medical Association. He is also a national health emergency response guiding expert, a reviewer for the National Natural Science Foundation of China, a corresponding editorial board member and peer reviewer for the Chinese and English editions of the 'National Medical Journal of China', an editorial board member for the 'Journal of Clinical Neurosurgery' and 'Chinese Journal of Neurotrauma', and a peer reviewer for the 'Acta Academiae Medicinae Sinicae' and 'Basic & Clinical Medicine'.
His research focuses on stem cell therapy for nerve injury, the mechanisms of nerve injury regeneration and repair, and the pathogenesis of hydrocephalus. He currently leads multiple research projects funded by the General Program of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Education, the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, and the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. He has participated in major technological research and development plans of the Ministry of Science and Technology, three national '863 Program' studies, and multiple studies funded by the National Natural Science Foundation and the Capital Health Research and Development of Special.
