Former Vice President of Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Professor, Chief Physician, and Doctoral Supervisor. Specializes in spine, joints, and osteoporosis, with a particular focus on the diagnosis and surgical treatment of idiopathic/congenital spinal deformity, lumbar spondylolisthesis, lumbar spinal stenosis, and other degenerative lumbar diseases. From 1982 to 1989, he served as a Resident and Attending Physician in the Departments of Surgery and Orthopedics at Peking Union Medical College Hospital. From 1989 to 1991, he was a Visiting Scholar at Shriner's Hospital, University of Kentucky College of Medicine, USA. From 1991 to 1995, he completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Orthopedic Biomechanics Laboratory, University of California, Irvine School of Medicine, USA. Since 1995, he has been an Associate Professor and Professor in the Department of Orthopedics at Peking Union Medical College Hospital.
