Dr. Lin Kang is the Director of the Geriatrics Department, a Chief Physician, Professor, and Master's Supervisor. She holds an MD degree.
She specializes in the management and intervention of malnutrition, emaciation, frailty, and sarcopenia. Her clinical expertise includes the prevention and treatment of geriatric syndromes such as falls, incontinence, and constipation, as well as the comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of complex chronic diseases in the elderly, including hypertension, hyperlipidemia, coronary heart disease, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and diabetes. She is also highly experienced in health management after examinations, preoperative and comprehensive functional evaluations for the elderly, polypharmacy adjustment, and shared decision-making with patients and their families.
Dr. Kang has extensive international training, having studied Geriatrics at Johns Hopkins University in 2007, visited Baycrest at the University of Toronto in 2012, and studied Geriatrics and Cardiovascular Medicine at UCSF in 2013. She holds numerous prominent academic positions, including Vice Chairman of the Youth Committee of the Geriatrics Branch of the Chinese Medical Association. She has published over 60 papers in SCI and domestic core journals, holds 4 national invention patents, and has authored or translated several key textbooks in geriatrics.
