Dr. Li specializes in the treatment of primary and secondary glomerular diseases and blood purification therapy, with particular expertise in lupus nephritis, refractory nephrotic syndrome, and acute renal failure. He has extensive clinical experience in diagnosing and treating primary and secondary glomerular diseases, renal vascular diseases, and acute and chronic renal failure. He also has unique insights into immunosuppressive therapy for nephrotic syndrome, IgA nephropathy, lupus nephritis, renal transplant rejection, and pregnancy in patients with chronic kidney disease. Dr. Li graduated from the Department of Medicine at Peking Union Medical College (PUMC) in 1970 and obtained his Master's degree in Nephrology from PUMC in 1982. He conducted research in renal cell biology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine from 1987 to 1989 and studied internal medicine teaching at Columbia University Presbyterian Hospital in 1995. He also holds a hospital management certificate from the China Europe International Business School (2000-2003). He has served as the Deputy Director and Director of the Department of Nephrology, Director of the Blood Purification Center, Deputy Director of the Department of Internal Medicine, and Executive Vice President of Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH). He has led numerous national and provincial research funds, focusing on the mechanisms of renal damage caused by abnormal lipid metabolism, the renal protective effects of statins, and the pathogenesis of IgA nephropathy and lupus nephritis. Dr. Li has published over 200 scientific papers, clinical case reports, and reviews in domestic and international journals. He has served as the editor-in-chief for 4 books and participated in writing 15 monographs. He has supervised 51 doctoral students and 8 master's students, making significant contributions to the development of nephrology in China.
