Specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of general surgical diseases, particularly colorectal diseases, anorectal diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, thyroid diseases, and presacral cyst diseases. Dr. Qiu has worked at Peking Union Medical College Hospital for over 50 years, serving as the Director of General Surgery from 2007 to 2012. He graduated from Shanghai First Medical College (now Fudan University Shanghai Medical College) and was a visiting scholar at Kyushu University Faculty of Medicine in Japan in 1990. Since the 1990s, his clinical and research focus has been on colorectal, anorectal, gastrointestinal, thyroid, and pelvic cyst diseases. He has published over 140 academic papers domestically and internationally and co-authored three books. He has received 17 awards at the provincial, ministerial, and hospital levels.
