He specializes in the surgical diagnosis and treatment of pancreatic, gastrointestinal, biliary, and thyroid diseases, with a particular focus on pancreatic diseases.
Dr. Zhang received his doctorate in surgery from Peking Union Medical College in 1995. He was a visiting scholar at the Starzl Transplantation Institute at the University of Pittsburgh in April 2002, and conducted postdoctoral research at the Gene Therapy Center at the University of North Carolina from May 2002 to December 2004. He has long been engaged in clinical and basic research in pancreatic surgery, receiving numerous national grants. He also serves as Deputy Editor-in-Chief and editorial board member for multiple prominent Chinese medical journals.
