Associate Chief Physician and Associate Professor. Specializes in anesthesia for difficult and complex cases, as well as the treatment of acute and chronic pain. Dr. Chen possesses solid basic medical theoretical knowledge and rich clinical experience. His sub-specialty interests include orthopedic anesthesia, geriatric anesthesia, pain management, and sleep therapy. Born in October 1971 in Hunan, Dr. Chen graduated from Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University in 1995 and was assigned to the Department of Anesthesiology at Peking Union Medical College Hospital as a resident physician. He obtained his Master's degree in Anesthesiology from Peking Union Medical College in 2000 and was promoted to attending physician in 2002. He later earned his Ph.D. in Anesthesiology from Peking Union Medical College in 2006 and was appointed as an Associate Chief Physician in 2009. From 2004 to 2005, he completed a one-year advanced study program at the Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Chinese University of Hong Kong. In 2007, he participated in advanced clinical skills training at Auckland City Hospital in New Zealand. From 2011 to 2012, he was officially dispatched to work at Conde S. Januário Hospital in Macau for one year.
