Director of Thoracic Surgery, Professor, Chief Physician, and Doctoral Supervisor. Specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of thoracic diseases such as lung tumors, esophageal cancer, gastric cardia cancer, various esophageal benign lesions, benign and malignant tumors of the mediastinum, and rare chest wall and sternal malignancies. He is proficient in highly difficult surgeries, including chest wall reconstruction, giant mediastinal tumor resection with vascular replacement, and carinal tumor resection with carinal reconstruction. He also masters new thoracic surgery technologies such as the Da Vinci surgical robot, fluorescence thoracoscopy, and electromagnetic navigation bronchoscopy. Dr. Li has been working in the Department of Surgery at Peking Union Medical College Hospital since 1989 and has served as the Director of Thoracic Surgery since 2007. He enjoys special government allowances from the State Council. He has mentored over 30 graduate students in thoracic surgery and serves as a guiding mentor for the Postdoctoral Innovative Talent Support Program. He is the Chief Scientist of the National Key R&D Program 'Intelligent Robots' by the Ministry of Science and Technology, leads multiple projects for the Ministry of Education and the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and has published over 100 SCI and core journal papers.
