Dr. Gao has been engaged in clinical neurology for over 30 years and possesses rich clinical experience. She specializes in leukoencephalopathy, cognitive impairment, dementia, non-tumor cranial neuropathology, and cerebrovascular disease.
She serves as the Deputy Leader of the Dementia and Cognitive Impairment Group of the Neurology Branch of the Chinese Medical Association, a member of the Neuropathology Group, a Standing Committee Member of the Neurology Branch of the Beijing Medical Association, Leader of the Neuropathology Group, and Deputy Leader of the Dementia and Cognitive Impairment Group. She has also been invited to participate in several other academic committees on dementia and degenerative diseases. She is an editorial board member for the Chinese Journal of Neurology, the Chinese edition of the BMJ, and the Chinese Journal of Multiple Organ Diseases in the Elderly.
Her specialized clinic for dementia and leukoencephalopathy has served patients for many years. She has accumulated extensive experience in the evaluation, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, and treatment of cognitive impairment and dementia, white matter abnormalities, leukoencephalopathy, and leukodystrophy. Her work in non-tumor brain pathology has helped doctors better understand the nature of diseases. She not only has international professional training and experience in epilepsy pathology and neurodegenerative diseases but has also collaborated with peers and other departments to diagnose rare intracranial granulomas and various inflammatory and infectious encephalopathies, allowing patients to receive timely and effective treatment. She actively promotes autopsy pathology research on dementia-related diseases in China.
