Specializes in the diagnosis and surgical treatment of hepatobiliary diseases, systemic and comprehensive treatment (such as targeted immunotherapy) for advanced hepatobiliary malignancies (including hepatocellular carcinoma, intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, and gallbladder cancer), translational surgical treatment after comprehensive treatment, and the whole-process management and follow-up of hepatobiliary malignancies. Also specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of benign and malignant tumors of the hepatobiliary system, intra- and extrahepatic bile duct calculi, and other diseases.
Since 2017, Professor Zhao has pioneered the MDT diagnosis and treatment model for advanced hepatobiliary malignancies, establishing a targeted immunotherapy cohort of over 2,000 patients. He has led multiple national and international research projects and published 148 SCI articles as the corresponding author, with a total impact factor exceeding 1,200 and over 8,000 citations.
