Specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric rare and complicated diseases, including rheumatological and immunological diseases, fever of unknown origin, autoinflammatory diseases, kidney diseases, infectious diseases, and some genetic diseases. Dr. Hongmei Song serves as the Director of the Department of Pediatrics at Peking Union Medical College Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and Director of the Children's Medical Center (Preparatory). She is the Chief Expert of the 14th Five-Year National Key R&D Program. Her research focuses on pediatric rheumatic and immunological diseases, especially clinical and basic research on autoinflammatory diseases. She has led the formulation of multiple diagnosis and treatment recommendations and guidelines for pediatric rheumatic diseases.
